Charles Benjamin Lincoln was born at Hartlepool and baptised on September 12th, 1894. His parents, Charles David (born Hartlepool in 1869, a Labourer in a local Engine Works), and Mary Ann Lincoln (nee Thomas, born Newcastle in 1878), were living in Back Clayton Street, Hartlepool, at this time.
The 1901 Census shows Charles David was now married to Isabella Lincoln (also born in Newcastle), who were living at No.12, Blandford Street, Throston, Hartlepool, with John R. (aged 10), and Charles Benjamin (6).
Charles Benjamin married Margaret Liddle in 1915, the couple living at No.13, Frederick Street, West Hartlepool, at the time of Charles' death.
