Fate

The Swedish steamship Crimdon was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UC-40 (Hermann Menzel), 3 miles east of Whitby, on July 27th, 1918. The ship was on a voyage from the Tyne to Rouen with a cargo of coal. Four lives were lost. Master A.S. Lewold.
