Fate

The Greek steamship Kithira was captured and sunk by the German submarine U-157 (Max Valentiner), off the west coast of Africa, on February 20th, 1918. The ship was on a voyage from Cotonou (in modern-day Benin), to Marseilles with a cargo of nut kernels and oil. No lives were lost. Master - Scambavia.
