Fate

The West Hartlepool-owned steamship Ribston, while serving as an Admiralty collier, was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-19, some 66 miles west of Ushant, on April 24th, 1916. The ship had sailed from Cardiff with a cargo of coal. No lives were lost. Master - R.T. Marshall.
