Fate

The steamship Mavisbrook was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UB-50, off Almeria, Spain, on May 17th, 1918. The ship was on a voyage from Cardiff to Malta with a cargo of coal.

Seventeen crew were lost including West Hartlepool-born Thomas English.
