Fate

The British steamship Bracondale was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-44 (Paul Wagenfuhr) North-West of Ireland on 5th August, 1917. The vessel was operating as the Admiralty "Q"-ship Chagford. Master Lieutenant Douglas G. Jeffrey.
