Barge Load Dredger Robert De Brus

Donated by Hartlepool Museum ServiceThe non-propelled Barge Load Dredger Robert de Brus and the steam hopper barge H.P. & H.C. No.6 working in the entrance to Hartlepool Harbour. The CMEW hammerhead crane can be seen in the background.
The Robert De Brus was built at the Fleming & Ferguson shipyard at Paisley, Glasgow, in 1919, and was in service up to 1960. The No.6 was built in 1924, and it too was in service until 1960.
