Fate

On a voyage from Portland, Oregon to Dublin with a cargo of wheat Muirfield was torpedoed by German submarine (U-49 Richard Hartmann) & sank 350 miles NW of Fastnet in 54.08N/18.40W on 11 July 1917. The chief officer & radio operator were made prisoners. Two lives were lost.
