Torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UC-26, 5 miles north of Cape Barfleur, on April 11th, 1917, with the loss of 23 lives. The ship was on passage from London to Le Havre. Master William Irvine.

The Duchess of Cornwall was launched on May 1st, 1889, by Prince Albert Victor, for the Duchess of Cornwall Steam Ship Co. (R. Chellew, of Truro).
