Florian - Lives lost 1941Master: 1941 Laurence Robert Mann.
On a voyage from Hull for New York in ballast with a total complement of 41 Florian sailed from Oban on 18 January 1941 & was not heard from again. Her lifeboat & wreckage were seen in 61.14N/12.05W. It was thought she was sunk on 20 January 1941 by German submarine U-94 (Herbert Kuppisch) who reported sinking a boat by torpedo SW of Iceland. All 41 hands were lost.
