Fate

The West Hartlepool-owned steamship Longscar was captured and sunk by the German submarine UC-21 (Reinhold Saltzwedel), on 14th February, 1917, in the Bay of Biscay. The ship was on a voyage from Nantes to Bilbao in ballast. No lives were lost. Master J. Willis.
